Family Art Project
The Family Art Project (FAP) is a program through Wave Hill Public Gardens and Cultural Center in which families come together to explore their own creative capacity and build community through storytelling and artmaking immersed in the garden. The Family Art Project is an inter-generational, place-based, drop-in program for families to tune into the lessons that nature has to offer by using artmaking as a vehicle for nurturing curiosity, empathy, and wild imagination. Taking place every Saturday and Sunday, each project is themed around the garden, and centers play, creativity, and experimentation by incorporating a range of art techniques using natural and up-cycled materials. Drawing from their own personal and cultural experiences, families are given space to cultivate a deeper relationship to the environment through connecting with the gardens.
From 2018 - 2021, Family Art Project was co-stewarded fro-run by Mallory Craig and Ryan Davis.
